WELLBEING COLLECTIVE

Kia ora, I'm Hilda
I’m an Indigenous integrative primary care doctor, neurodivergent wellbeing coach and creative arts therapist, originally from Borneo. Trained in medicine in Ireland, I’ve worked across Eastern and Western cultures and have served rural communities in Waikato as a general practitioner since 2015.
My work brings together evidence-based medicine, holistic wellbeing and creative, embodied approaches to healing. Drawing on over 20 years of experience in healthcare, I weave Western medical knowledge with ancient wisdom, including Ayurveda and Indigenous healing traditions.
As a neurodivergent person myself, I bring lived experience, alongside professional training, to my work as a wellbeing coach and creative arts therapist. My practice is neurodivergent-informed, neuroaffirming and trauma-informed, offering a space where different ways of experiencing, sensing and engaging with the world are welcomed and respected. I honour each person's unique needs, strengths and ways of being, without seeking to make them fit a predetermined norm.
Grounded in neuroscience, arts psychotherapy and transpersonal, embodied practice, my creative arts therapy work uses movement, imagery, dreams and metaphor to explore what words alone cannot reach.
Across all three roles, I support people to reconnect with their innate capacity for healing, fostering a more grounded, compassionate and connected way of being. My practice honours each person's spirit and place within the wider whole, welcoming questions of meaning, belonging and our relationship with the natural world. I see creativity, nature and the psyche as valuable guides on this journey.
